Everyone knows that March is the month that we celebrate St. Patrick's Day. For kids that means leprechaun traps, pots of amber and plenty of rainbows! To celebrate non only that green tinted holiday but as wel the climax of spring, we are going to make some rainbow raindrops to hang on the wall!

For this project you could easily substitute colored or expression theme for the particolored stripes. Some other sport substitution would be cotton balls for the white felt up on the cloud! So let's get started…

For this undertaking you will need the following supplies:

  • Recycled cardboard endue boxes (seed boxes work great too)
  • paint – noble, blue, green, yellow, orange, red
  • twine
  • 3 sheets white felt
  • ruler
  • pencil
  • scissors
  • record

Raining RainbowsUse a swayer to draw a straight line the full distance of the cardboard. Draw another line 1/2″ absent and repeat for a whole of 6 half inch sections. Repeat again using up the cardboard.

NOTE: I used a large clothing gift box left over from Yuletide. Cereal boxes work perfectly fine just may not return as many raindrops.

Raining RainbowsPaint the low gear telephone circuit with purpurate rouge. The next next line should be blue, then close is green. The 4th line is icteric, followed by Orange, and lastly ending with red.

Raining RainbowsCut a raindrop shape impossible of another piece of cardboard or from paper, qualification the widest around about 3 inches. This way your raindrops wish be wide decent to have each colors of the rainbow.

Trace the raindrop shape onto the rainbow lines. We got 8 but 6 would be plenty.

Cut the raindrops out and set aside.

Raining RainbowsUse another piece of composition board to draw and turn out out a cloud shape.

Raining RainbowsCut different sized circles and ovals from ashen felt. Use Edward Douglas White Jr trade gum to cover the cloud with the felt, overlapping as you go.

Raining RainbowsTurn the cloud and the raindrops over. Cut 14″ lengths of string for each raindrop. Tape a piece of string to the bet on of each raindrop. Next tape the strings to the back of the obnubilate at varying lengths. Trig the excess strings. You can also create a hanger using thread and tape on the in reply of the cloud, or just use a while of wall putty or mag tape.
